A man accused in 130 cases of theft in Baoshan and Jiading districts was taken into criminal custody, Baoshan District police said yesterday.

The suspect, a Jiangsu Province native surnamed Chen, was allegedly caught stealing in Chenxing Village on October 9. According to the police, Chen's pregnant girlfriend needed money for an abortion, and he used the stolen cash from his serial thefts to help her.
