Pendestrians and cyclists are at the biggest risk on Shanghai's roads. Alarmed by the latest accident reports, city traffic police have appealed to motorists to give way to cyclists and pedestrians at crossings.

According to the police, at least 129 of the car accidents on city streets up to October 12 this year involved pedestrians or cyclists who had run red lights.
