City environmental protection authorities are investigating yet another complaint that a Qingpu District chemical factory is sending foul odors into surrounding neighborhoods and may be endangering people's health, Shanghai Daily reported.

Neighbors have been griping about the plant, the Qingpu Gaowei Chemical Auxiliary Agent Factory, for five years. Environmental authorities have ordered it to clean up its airborne effluents, but the factory has fought the actions in court and in the regulatory arena.
