Graffiti and unauthorized advertisements may soon bring fines up to 100,000
yuan (US$14,628), according to a revised draft of the city's public sanitation
regulations.
The proposed rules, which came out of a session of the
Standing Committee of the Shanghai People's Congress yesterday, aim to enhance
punishment for those who deface public property and spaces, and ensure an
uncluttered cityscape during the 2010 World Expo.
