The Luwan District People's Court sentenced four people to jail for stealing antique rosewood furniture. Their prison terms ranged from 8 to 12-and-a-half years.

On January 7, one of the accused, surnamed Ni, spotted rosewood furniture in a house on Shunchang Road. The next morning, he and three other men broke in and stole six chairs and three tea tables. The furniture belonged to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and was valued at 270,000 yuan (US$39,480).
