Construction of the steel structure of the Expo Center was completed
yesterday. The center will host ceremonies, forums and international meetings
during the 2010 World Expo.
The 142,000-square-meter building in Pudong
New Area will also be the operations and media center at the Expo site. It is
one of the five permanent, "green" constructions at the Expo site, along with
the China Pavilion, the Theme Pavilion, the Performance Center and the Expo
Boulevard. It will be turned into a convention center after the 2010
event.
