Spot checks on all oranges
3/11/2008 10:06
Customers choose oranges, grown on local Changxing Island, at a supermarket
in downtown Shanghai yesterday. The Shanghai Agricultural Commission will
conduct spot checks on oranges from other provinces to see whether they contain
worms, as happened in some parts of the country. The checks will cover all the
major fruit wholesale markets in the city. The commission has already checked
oranges produced in local suburbs and no pests have been found, officials
confirmed.- Shanghai Daily
