Liquid ammonia leaked at a fruit warehouse on Songhui Road in Songjiang District at 2am on Saturday morning.

Eleven residents living nearby suffered vomiting and were sent to hospital. All of them were sent home after treatment. The leak was controlled after one hour and residents were allowed to return home at 6am, after the ammonia in the air dropped to safe levels.
