Five thieves were given sentences of between five and six months yesterday for shoplifting from IKEA. The Xuhui District People's Court said the thieves stole goods worth more than 20,000 yuan (US$2,925) before they were caught.

The gang picked up receipts thrown away by customers and stole whatever was on the invoices. They then returned the stolen goods and collected the refund.
