A Henan Province man was sentenced yesterday to six years in prison for making explosive devices and attempting to blow up the car of a friend who refused to repay a gambling debt, Shanghai Daily reported.

The Jing'an District People's Court also handed the man's accomplice, Cai Mingchun, a 33-year-old Anhui Province native, a three-year sentence for making explosives.
