The Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court recently accepted a case involving a Chinese citizen who allegedly committed a crime in Paris.

Prosecutors allege that the defendant, Lin Bingsong, and his accomplice, Lin Cunhong, had a feud with a tea house owner in Paris, Ge Zhitao, over a gambling debt. On May 22, 2006, the duo borrowed a gun and confronted Ge. When Ge threatened them with a hunting rifle, Lin Bingsong allegedly shot him and another tea house employee. Ge died on the spot. Lin Bingsong then reportedly fled to the Netherlands and Italy. When he tried to enter China using fake documents, he was caught by the frontier police.
