Fish feed in Shanghai is free of melamine contamination, authorities confirmed yesterday after conducting citywide checks over the past two weeks.

The tests, prompted by a widening scandal that found the industrial chemical in products ranging from infant formula to candy, covered more than 100 feed producers across the city. They were carried out by the Shanghai Animal Drugs and Feed Inspection Institution.
