18/11/2008 10:23

Shanghai Daily news

Police said yesterday that they caught an ex-convict who was impersonating a train attendant and swindling passengers. Police captured the suspect, surnamed Lou, at the Shanghai South Railway Station.

The suspect allegedly cheated passengers by disguising himself as a train attendant and taking their tickets to the station office for a refund. Lou also allegedly took money from passengers who wanted to upgrade to a better seat. Police from the Shanghai South Station received two reports involving scams worth a total 1,648 yuan (US$241). Police found Lou had been released from prison in March for serving a sentence for a different scam.
