An umbrella mistakenly left at a crime scene has allowed police to catch a man suspected of killing a couple in their Minhang District home early this month, city police said yesterday.

The suspect, a 33-year-old Anhui Province native, forgot his umbrella after allegedly killing the couple with a hammer and a dagger in a revenge attack over the treatment of his sick son, police said.
