The Shanghai Railway Transport Intermediate People's Court sentenced Mei Li, a Jiangxi Province native, to life in prison yesterday for trafficking drugs and fake money.

On May 15, Mei was caught taking drugs on the train. He was found in possession of 427 grams of ice and 4,400 yuan (US$644) of fake money. Mei said he was trafficking the drugs for others for a fee of 4,000 yuan.
