Yang Jia, who murdered six police officers and injured four others during a knife-attack rampage in a Shanghai police office building in July, was executed by lethal injection early yesterday, Shanghai Daily reported.

The punishment was carried out by the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court after the death sentence was approved by China's Supreme People's Court.
