New regulations on where city advertising hoardings can be placed and how large they can be will be announced next month.

Officials from the Shanghai Greenery Bureau and Shanghai City Appearance and Environmental Sanitation Administration Bureau told a delegation of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee yesterday that the regulations would be set after hearings with advertising companies, residents and urban design experts.
