The Shanghai Higher People's Court yesterday rejected an appeal lodged by Nantong Xishu Fruit Trade Co Ltd in a dispute over the kiwi trademark Zespri.

Xishu was ordered to pay 300,000 yuan (US$43,934) compensation to Zespri Group Limited, a New Zealand kiwi fruit producer, for infringing its trademark. Xishu was found to use patterns that were similar to those of Zespri.
