Minhang District prosecutors yesterday charged a Sichuan Province native with
robbery after he surrendered to police following six years on the run because he
was so touched by the help offered by Shanghai people to his quake-stricken
family.
Cheng Shuhou, 26, a native from Dujiangyan City, Sichuan
Province, surrendered to police in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan, on
September 30 - six years after the alleged robbery took place - and was later
escorted to Shanghai.
