The Wusong Road Watergate Bridge will be demolished next August as part of the Bund traffic renovation program, the city construction administration said yesterday.

The overpass running across Suzhou Creek, built in 1991, would be removed to re-introduce an open view of the riverside strip, construction officials told a delegation of members of the Shanghai committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference yesterday.
