An 86-year-old man died after a gas leak yesterday at his home in Yangpu District. His 82-year-old wife was in critical condition. The pair were discovered yesterday morning at their apartment on Yangshupu Road after neighbors smelled gas and called an ambulance.

When first-aid staff arrived, the husband was pronounced dead and the wife was rushed to the Yangpu District Central Hospital.
