Shanghai Daily news

The Xuhui District People's Court yesterday ordered a man surnamed Zhu return the ashes of Ke Ling, a famous Chinese literary figure, to his nine children.

Ke died in June 2000 and his ashes were kept by his wife, Chen. After Chen died, her nephew, Zhu, kept Chen's and Ke's ashes. Zhu said Chen left a will saying she wanted their ashes scattered at sea. As Ke did not leave instructions, the court ruled his children should keep his ashes.
