Shanghai port is enhancing inspection of incoming food shipments following an
import ban on Irish pork and quality problems with products from other parts of
Europe and the United States.
Every batch of imported food will now be
checked, the Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said
yesterday. In the past, the bureau relied on spot-checking import
samples.
