Jiang Yuhang, a 20-year-old Guizhou native who was rescued by Shanghai firefighters after being buried under debris in Yingxiu Town for 124 hours in the May 12 earthquake in Sichuan Province, has signed up to become a firefighter with a local brigade.

Jiang had passed the inspection and will arrive in the city to begin work soon, local fire control authorities said.
