The city has set up an atmospheric observatory station at the Eastern Shore National Migratory Birds Reserve on Chongming Island, the first comprehensive weather monitoring post in eastern China.

It will provide long-term and reliable information on air pollution in the city, the Shanghai Morning Post reported yesterday.
