Pudong New Area government has invested about 32 billion yuan (US$4.67 billion) in infrastructure construction this year, with about 90 percent in Expo-related projects, government officials said yesterday at a meeting to mark the 500-day countdown to the 2010 event in Shanghai.

More than 96 percent of projects associated with the Expo to improve the city environment are under way, officials said when reviewing work done in the past 100 days.
