Each Metro carriage is to be fitted with three video monitors by the 2010 World Expo to allow police to identify suspects, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau said yesterday.

Although Shanghai Metro lines have more than 7,000 video monitors, or more than 30 video monitors in each station on average, carriages don't have monitoring facilities at present, police spokesman Feng Bo said.
