The former Party secretary of Changzheng Town in Putuo District has been charged with corruption, embezzlement and accepting bribes.

The Shanghai No. 2 People's Prosecutors' Office charged Wang Miaoxing, also the chairman of Shanghai Xinchangzheng Group, of embezzling money from land transfers, project developments, company restructurings and equity transfers. Prosecutors have recovered more than 110 million yuan (US$16.06 million) so far. Wang was arrested on October 23, 2007.
