Shanghai is to limit the power usage of companies which use a lot of energy but have low output to ensure power supplies in the city, the Shanghai Economic Committee said yesterday, Shanghai Daily reported.

The city is expected to have a peak power demand of between 19 to 19.5 million kilowatts from December to March.
