The Huangpu District Prosecutors' Office has charged three Zhejiang Province natives with kidnaping a high school student and demanding 10 million yuan (US$1.46 million) in ransom.

Prosecutors said a suspect, Kong, provided family background of the victim, whose father owned a construction company, and the other two, Li and Tang, kidnaped the boy. Police caught them just 12 hours after the ransom demand.
