Qingpu District prosecutors filed fraud charges yesterday against two men who swindled kind-hearted cabbies by pretending to need money for emergencies.

The suspects, identified by the surnames Yao and Zhang, defrauded more than 40 taxi drivers out of some 17,000 yuan (US$2,485) from May to August in Qingpu and Songjiang districts, prosecutors alleged.
