A top global entertainment center is expected to be established at the Shanghai Expo site by 2010, with the collection of design layouts starting worldwide yesterday.
The center, located at the core area of the World Expo site south of the Huangpu River with an area of nearly 80,000 square meters, will be a multifunctional site for various performances, arts exchanges, academic research, entertainment and tourist sightseeing during the period of the 2010 World Expo.
Design ideas, which the city has begun accepting globally since yesterday, should embody the theme of the 2010 World Expo - "Better City, Better Life", with the main hall able to accommodate 3,500 audiences.
