A group of Chinese studies scholars are pushing for the central government to change the date of Teachers' Day from September 10 to September 28, the birthday of Confucius (551-479 BC), Shanghai Daily reported.

The proposal was raised last Friday at the launch of the city's first ancient Chinese philosophy and literature training program for business leaders at Fudan University.
