More than six million households in Shanghai will be covered by an Internet
network 40 times faster than broadband by 2010, a government-backed broadband
research center said yesterday, Shanghai Daily reported.
The increased speeds will give users access to high-volume Web content,
including television programs, live medical consultations and video
conferencing, according to the Shanghai Engineering Research Center for
Broadband Technologies & Application.
