A landfill site in suburban Shanghai will be turned into a wind energy farm
capable of supplying power to more than 100,000 households a day when all of the
turbines are in place, Shanghai Daily reported.
Construction on the first phase of the wind power plant will kick off soon as
the project's two builders signed an agreement yesterday to install 15 turbines
at the Shanghai Laogang Landfill Plant in Nanhui District on a
40,000-square-meter site near the coast.
