Maurice "Hank" Greenberg, president of Starr International Co, yesterday donated US$2 million to the 2007 Shanghai Special Olympic Games. To thank him, Special Olympic athletes gave him an oil painting they created. 

Greenberg was appointed as the first chairman of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai and was awarded Honorary Citizen of Shanghai in 1997. His donation is reportedly one of the biggest individual contributions in Special Olympics history.

The Games are scheduled for November.
