The setting of standards and prices will help solar-energy electricity
systems become part of Chinese family life, said Zhao Chunjiang, a doctor with
the Shanghai University of Electric Power.
The country¡¯s first home-applied solar-energy electricity system has been
used in Zhao¡¯s family home in a 100-day trial and it successfully reduced the
family¡¯s use of power.
¡°The television, fridge and micro-oven can all be run on the system,¡±Zhao
said.
The country should map out detailed standards, construction procedures and a
suitable price for residents to install solar energy to promote the system, Zhao
said.
The system generated 797 kilowatt-hours electricity in the 100 days and it
can produce 10 kilowatt-hours power every day in summer.
The system can generate 3,000 Kilowatt-hours electricity a year, which can
meet the whole family¡¯s needs, said Zhao¡¯s wife.
The system, which doesn¡¯t need frequent maintenance, can help reduce the
discharge of carbon dioxide by 3.6 tons when producing 3,000 kilowatt-hours of
power, Zhao said.
