Anhui Province cultural officials said they will investigate allegations that
a Shanghai company illegally moved several protected historical buildings to
build a tourist attraction here, Shanghai Daily reported.
Twelve privately owned Hui-style residential houses - the earliest dating
back to around the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) - have been moved to the
Weisijia Ecology Tourist Resort in Luodian Town in Shanghai's Baoshan District,
according to the Anhui Commercial News. The newspaper said the construction
company told it the houses had been taken from Anhui Province.
