Shanghai Maritime police said they still expected more calls from people with information on recent thefts of batteries from navigation buoys, Shanghai Daily reported.
Several residents responded to a plea for help made last week but no arrests have been made.
It was the first time maritime police had asked the public for its help in tracking down buoy-battery thieves. A reward is on offer for information leading to an arrest.
