Construction companies and hospitals around the city are facing a temporary labor shortage as many migrant workers in the city head home to help with the harvest, Shanghai Daily reported.

The shortage has also affected domestic service firms, as many ayis in the city are returning home for a few weeks to help with work on the farm.
