The five Shanghai teams who won prizes in the 28th World Brain Olympics
Competition returned home last night to a warm welcome from people in their
hometown.
The 28th World Brain Olympics Competition ran from May 23 to 26 at the
University of Michigan in the United State, with the prize giving ceremony
staged on May 27. A total of 805 teams from more than 10 countries such as
China, US, Canada, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Poland, and Japan
participated in the Olympics.
Of the five Shanghai teams who brought honor to their city, the Shanghai
Jinyuan Senior High School won a gold medal and the Shanghai Guangqi Primary
School won a bronze in their respective contests.
Leader of the Chinese teams, and deputy executive chief of the Shanghai Brain
Olympics Competition Association, Yao Huiqi, said the Chinese teams were praised
by jury members from different countries for their creativity.
