Twelve medical institutions will get 20,000 yuan (US$2645) each from the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration as they are listed IPR test units in the health field.

These medical institutions, including the Second Military Medical University and the Shanghai First People's Hospital, will enhance IPR creation, management, protection and implementation in their two-year test under guidance from the Shanghai Intellectual Property and the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau.

According to the rules, local medical institutions that are granted with an overseas patent can get a 30,000-yuan subsidy.
