More than 400 medical facilities are giving 15 to 18 percent of local residents health checkups and health management annually, a meeting in the city heard on Friday, Shanghai Daily reported. 

The figures were released as the Ministry of Health announced a nationwide study into the industry.

The study comes after industry insiders said there were about 5,000 to 6,000 facilities and hospitals providing health checkups nationwide.
