The International Flower Show will be held as a prelude to Shanghai World
Expo in the city from March 26 to 28 in 2010, Interflora, the worldĄŻs largest
flower delivery network and floriculture organization, announced yesterday at a
signing ceremony in Shanghai, Jiefang Daily reported today.
The show, which will place its first stopover in a developing country, is
expected to attract visitors from 25 countries including Britain, Australia and
South Korea.
Interflora, Shanghai International Culture Film and Television Co Ltd and
Shanghai International Exhibition Co Ltd will jointly operate the show. Floral
exhibitions, florist fairs, floriculture forums and contests will be included at
the show.
The latest show concluded in 2004 in Melbourne, Australia. The organizer
postponed the show, originally scheduled for this year.
The International Flower Show is usually held every four years and has been
the top event for world floriculture since 1974 in the United States.
The Shanghai 2010 World Expo will be held from May 1 to October 31.
