Shanghai has established emergency logistics networks to react to the
devastating 8.0-magnitude earthquake in Sichuan Province on May 12.
Departments covering emergency supplies, transportation and communications
have achieved a seamless link. Relief goods including lighting equipment,
epidemic prevention drugs, medical appliances, tents, food and rescue devices
have been transported at average intervals of 10 hours.
Bright Food Group had transported 240 tons of food from Shanghai north suburb
railway station to quake-ravaged regions as of yesterday. Shanghai Maling Food
Co Ltd adjusted the packing of its canned foods in case of an airdrop.
Shanghai Rui Xiang Decoration Products Co Ltd now produces more than 300
tents per day to meet soaring demand, three times as much as normal production.
Shanghai Lehui Food Co Ltd provides tens of thousands of sterile boxed
lunches to Sichuan Province every day. Shanghai J.Y. Group Company stands by
around the clock to transport relief goods.
