Chatting online and joining in offline activities to make friends and find
true love is becoming more and more trendy among Shanghai youngsters.
On Saturday, 800 young people from 30 companies and institutions such as
Shanghai Customs, Baosteel Group and Shanghai Bureau of Astronautics attended a
dating event at Shanghai Circus City.
Organized by 12355City-Youth.cn, it is the first offline event after the
platform was established in May.
The organizer donated 50 wheelchairs to the World Wheelchair Foundation. The
wheelchairs would be offered to survivors in the quake-hit Dujiangyan in Sichuan
Province. Shanghai has paired with Dujiangyan in reconstruction.
"Young people in a metropolitan city like Shanghai should not only be
fashionable and talented, but also show enthusiasm in charity work," said Xu
Bing of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League.
