Municipal government departments are making progress in the application of advanced technologies to cut their energy use, an inspection team from the Standing Committee of the Shanghai People's Congress said yesterday, Shanghai Daily reported.

The group has completed a close look at how 83 government departments are living up to their commitments to save energy, and members said they were generally pleased with the results.
