Workers yesterday install the first slurry balance shield independently developed by China, which has a diameter of 11.22 meters, at the construction site of the Dapuqiao Tunnel, linking Pudong and Puxi in Shanghai. The tunnel is expected to be completed by the end of next year and improve the traffic flow across the Huangpu River.—Shanghai Daily
