ZHABEI District police confiscated about 50 battery-powered tricycles in a clampdown on Thursday evening. Most of the tricycles didn't have number plates or licenses but the main problem was that they were blocking the sidewalk and endangering pedestrians.

Police have received mounting complaints about battery-powered tricycles parking along Gonghexin Road to pick up passengers coming out of Pengpu New Estate Station on Metro Line 1.
