Cai Wenjun/Shanghai Daily News

LUNG cancer patients receiving targeted treatment have better physical health and a more positive attitude towards life than people receiving traditional chemotherapy treatment, according to a survey released by the China Anti-Cancer Association in the city yesterday.

Targeted therapy is a type of medication that blocks the growth of cancer cells by interfering with specifically targeted molecules that are needed for tumors to grow, rather than by interfering with rapidly dividing cells, as chemotherapy does.
